Paul Mclinden

The wonderful Lauren Laverne played my song 'Love You Bring' on her BBC 6 Music Show on Friday (13/05/11) , describing it as 'absolutely beautiful' (go lauren!). The show is available on the BBC iplayer and you can check it out here  http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01105kd

Also, Beanbags and Blue Planet were played this week on the Iain Anderson Show on BBC Radio Scotland which im delighted about. You can hear these shows here http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0074hkv

Im going into the studio next week to record a few songs so hopefully the session goes well and i'll have some new music for you to hear.

Im very happy to have been asked to play at the beautiful City Halls in Glasgow on Feb 26th. I will be opening for the newly formed Rose Room which comprises virtuoso violinist and vocalist Seonaid Aitken and also Jimmy Moon on double-bass (i once bought a guitar from Jimmy hes the man!) By all accounts the venue is amazing and im excited to be playing at it and I will be joined for this concert by my good friend and all round talented musician Steve McCluskey. Tickets are priced at £10 from the Box Office or you can drop me a line and get a discounted price of £6! Hope to see some of you there.

Happy New Year to everyone...Im very happy to say that a song i wrote with Dot Allison has been used in the new Maxwell House Coffee advert in Russia. I dont like coffee and i cant speak Russian but i am half way through an amazing book by Mikhail Bulgakov called 'The Master And Margarita'..what an amazing book. Also the song is being used for the Ralph Lauren Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion Show...i know nothing about fashion but it sounds quite cool doesnt it! Check out the videos for both:

New Single

Hello folks
Just a quick update about whats been going on....i am sorry that theres been a delay in getting the 'This Is That' CDs back from the manufacturers. Its a long story and i wont bore you with the sordid details...basically ive had to change manufacturers as the original company have let me down badly. I would like to shout and swear about this but instead i have written a couple of poems about the guy from the CD company which i will share at a later date. Anyways im now in the process of getting a new company to make the CDs and they should be ready in a week or two at most( where have you heard that before). I have decided to release a download single in the meantime and its called 'Love You Bring'. Its got quite a christmas vibe to it except it has nothing whatsoever to do with christmas. Its available at all the usual places for download and i do hope you enjoy it.

cheers

This Is That

Hello folks

After a wait of two years, I’m happy to announce that I’ve finished my next record – a six song mini-album called ‘This is That.’ 5 of the songs were engineered and produced at Chem 19 by Dave McAulay. The other track was produced by the very talented Kenny Inglis.

It’s currently being manufactured south of the border and the CD will be available to purchase in the next couple of weeks. If you’re in a hurry, downloads are available from my website now, and you will be able to get it shortly from itunes, amazon etc etc.

It’s a bit of a departure from the country flavoured excesses of my last release so please tie your horses up at the fence and leave your Stetsons at the door.

Im happy with the finished product even if it was hard work! Im currently working on new songs which should be ready very soon(2 years at the most). In the meantime check out Dave McAulays band here:
